CSL ladies enjoying a Thursday meeting!

Love in Action

Love in Action has been the motto of Children’s Service League (CSL) and continues today as demonstrated by the volunteerism of this dedicated group of women.

CSL began helping children in the Permian Basin in the early days of Midland.  In 1956,  the focus of CSL began to narrow, and after identifying 25 children with cerebral palsy in the community, the organization started the Midland Cerebral Palsy Center.

The first clinic was located on Ohio and moved to it’s current location in the early 1970s. It wasn’t long after the clinic opened that children with other orthopedic and neurological limitations came for treatment. In 2001 the name was changed to the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center to better reflect the population it serves.

This dedicated group of volunteers still supports the Center today. They meet the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 am at MCRC.  By joining CSL, as a member you are able to volunteer in the following programs:

  • Hippotherapy Program
  • Aquatics Program
  • Open Gym
  • Therapeutic Dance
  • Sensory Integration Program
  • Front office and record keeping
  • Special events
  • We are the World Camps
  • Orthotic and medical evaluation clinics
  • Christmas Program
