Melanie grew up in Carrollton, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Education. She began her career as a middle school teacher, teaching for six years before moving to Midland in 2011, where she taught 4th grade. After seven years in education, Melanie transitioned to being a stay at home mom. During her time away from the professional work, she volunteered with several non-profits around Midland and is now thrilled to serve as the Marketing Coordinator for MCRC.
Melanie and her husband, Brady, have 3 children. In her free time, she enjoys playing Mahjong with friends, cheering on her kids at their various sports activities, and traveling with her family.
