Gwen is originally from the North West (Washington to be specific) but has lived in 6 different states (Washington, Idaho, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York and finally Texas). After graduating from Rockland College with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, she moved to Midland on what was meant to be a short term job assignment. She had been working as a retail manager for 12 years and came to help train a staff for her employer. God had other plans for Gwen. She met her husband Luis 4 months in and got “stuck” here. She came to MCRC by an answered prayer to leave retail and begin work in an environment that make a difference in the lives of children. She started as the receptionist where she learned the faces of MCRC families and now works as the center's Community Relations Administrator.
She is the partner between our families, the community and the center. Gwen's goal is to ensure MCRC families are fully aware of the programs it offers and that they are receiving the best quality of service possible. She helps them understand all the ways they are able to give back through volunteer work, donations and ways to become ambassadors for the center by equipping parents and families to share through their testimonies.
When not at work or church, Gwen can be found spending time with her husband Luis, step daughter Laila, and their 3 dogs (Tinkerbell, Knox, and Boots).
