Laura was born in Louisville, Kentucky and at age 2 moved with her family to Winnsboro, Texas, where she was raised. Since the age of 13, Laura has worked with and trained horses both at home and with various organizations, including working at Sky Ranch in Van, Texas as a wrangler for several years. In 2010 she moved to Midland, Texas where she worked at an optical shop and met her husband, Trevor. Laura has always enjoyed working with horses as well as children, so in 2011 one of her friends introduced her to Midland Children’s Rehabilitation. At first, she was a equine volunteer which led to her being offered the position of Assistant Barn Manager in 2012. After gladly accepting the position, Laura became a P.A.T.H. certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She enjoys watching the kids progress with their therapies on horseback and helping children become independent riders through the Therapeutic Riding program as well as being responsible for maintaining the Equine Program with the other Equine team members. Her favorite part of MCRC is getting to see the love, interaction and bonding between the children and the horses.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys cooking, working out, practicing martial arts, and spending as much time as possible with her husband, their 16 month old daughter, Sophie, and their 3 dogs.
