Kai

Kai Briscoe (3 years old) has been attending many therapies at MCRC since February of 2016.

When he began, he was completely nonverbal. He wouldn’t play with his peers or siblings, there was no engagement, and he seemed to be in his own little world.

Prior to receiving therapy at MCRC, he would frequently tantrum because he was so frustrated that he could not communicate his wants and needs.

But as of December 2016, Kai has emerged and is now quite verbal. He consistently uses 2-3 word phrases and can now effectively communicate his needs and wants. He follows several-step directions and now engages others in communication.

Jennifer Austin, MS, CCC-SLP says about Kai, “He came to MCRC with a profound speech delay. He has been receiving in-clinic Speech and OT as well as hippotherapy. He has made excellent progress and is a delightful boy—I look forward to his sessions!”

Jennifer’s long-term goals for Kai will be increased talking and improved social skills, as well as peer group therapy.
